Probate

Most people think probate is a dark and evil place. This is not necessarily true. Newspapers and television have given probate a bad name. The death of a family member can make the surviving family members subject to a range of emotional and financial decisions. Disputes between family members can happen. If a will or trust is contested then the parties bring the dispute to the probate courts. If a guardian is not named for someone, or parties' question the guardian's actions, then probate is where the dispute goes. Probate is not always a bad place but there is a system to the court and experience is usually a good idea. This firm has experience in both Cook and DuPage courts. Sometimes, a will or trust just has to be filed with the court and a report given to the judge showing the debts have been paid. This is the most common reason a case ends up in Probate and the matter is not difficult at all.
